In Water Without Getting Wet

 Experiment one

This experiment teaches how to put a substance in water Without getting wet.

It might sound impossible but as we all know this is an experiment and it actually works.

Please before we start it is required to subscribe to my newsletter and get free experiments directly to your inbox for free without stress.

Alright let's get started:

What you need

  • A clear glass jar
  • Ping-pong ball
  • Piece of kitchen paper
  • Transparent bowl or basin (deeper than the jar) containing water.
What to do

  1. Place the paper in the bottom of the glass jar so that it cannot move about.
  2. Place the ping-pong ball on the surface of the water in the bowl.
  3. Turn the jar upside down over the ping-pong ball. Press the ball down with the jar until it touches the bottom of the bowl.

Observation noted:

The water does not get into the jar, living the paper unwet, and the ping-pong ball resting at the bottom of the bowl almost dry.

Because:

The air in the jar stops the water from getting In and making the paper wet, therefore the paper remains dried.
