You need
- A square of paper preferreble 15 cm square paper
- A pencil
- Scissors
- A piece of string about 20cm long
- A source of heat, such as a very hot radiator or an electric pan
- Draw a spiral on the paper and cut along the spiral lines( illustrations in the picture below)
- Make a little hole in the centre of the spiral. Thread the string through and fasten with a knot
- Hang the spiral above the source of heat
The spiral begins to spin round on it's own
Because
.....the air is warmed up by the source of heat and rises up. As it comes in contact with the spiral, the air is channelled between the strips, pressing against the and making it spin round
Please mine the spiral doesn't rotate
ReplyDeletePlease sorry for the delay I saw your spiral pictures on my in box and I noticed that you didn't get the spiral folding shape.
