An Invisible Force

An Invisible Force

 Experiments 3

In this experiment, we are going to be checking if air has an invisible force strong enough to stop something from moving

Please subscribe to this website

What you need

  • A ruler
  • A large sheet of paper
  • A board to work on
What to do

  1. Place the ruler over the board so that it sticks out over the edge by about one third.
  2. Put the sheet of paper on top of the ruler so that the paper lays flat on the board.
  3. Still the sticking out part of the ruler to make the paper jump in the air (Take care that the blow is not hard enough to break the ruler.)
What happens

The paper stops the ruler from lifting up

Because

Air is pressing the paper down. So that means that air has force.
